Dear Relatives, Friends and Well-Wishers

Having spent over fifteen years in retirement, I have come to cherish this phase of life as a time of quiet reflection and gratitude. Stepping away from active professional responsibilities has offered me the space to look back with a sense of fulfillment — to relive the beauty of my life’s journey, its challenges, its purpose and the countless lives that have touched mine along the way. In this calm and contemplative period, I find renewed appreciation for the values and experiences that continue to inspire my efforts toward service and compassion.

The technological advancement of the 20th century has given all of us an opportunity to record our own history and life’s experience in a new perspective. Those born during the first half of the 20th century (1900 to 1950), could be considered the elders of this generation. Of these most have bid goodbye to life on this Earth, of the few left I may be one among the last (born in December 1950) and the least among the elders. The generation next (1960–2000) saw rapid changes, be it in their careers, life styles, religious practices and even customs. Life is a never–ending flux. As a token of gratitude for the abundance in blessing we all have received, I felt the need to create something lasting and useful for human society registered a Public Charitable Trust in the name of “PINHEIRO FOUNDATION”. The idea was to create an opportunity to carry out charitable activities for generations to come.

Human nature often seeks reward — a mindset shaped over centuries by cultural and religious influences, where acts of charity are sometimes performed with the expectation of blessings or rewards in another life. However, true charity transcends such expectations. It should arise naturally from one’s inner compassion and sense of responsibility toward others, without anticipation of any return.

In keeping with this belief, the Pinheiro Foundation stands independent of all religious affiliations, doctrines, or dogmas. It is founded on the principle that service to humanity is a universal value — one that needs no validation beyond the good it creates.

The name “Pinheiro Foundation” has been chosen in the hope that, over time, it will grow into a respected and trusted institution, serving as a beacon of support for charitable and educational initiatives — if it is destined to be so.

The purpose of this message is twofold. Firstly, it is to inform all our well–wishers, family and friends about the establishment of the Pinheiro Foundation and the objectives that guide its mission. Secondly, it is to extend an invitation — to offer each of you an avenue through which your goodwill and sense of gratitude toward humanity may find meaningful expression.

Whenever you feel inspired to contribute to society or are moved by a desire to give back, the Pinheiro Foundation provides a platform through which you can do so. Whether by supporting the Foundation’s existing initiatives or by pursuing a charitable purpose close to your heart within the scope of its objectives, your involvement can help transform compassion into lasting impact.

The foundation has five trustees’ positions, two are kept vacant for anyone who wants to do some activity as per the objective. The underlying theme is of course to provide financial support for education for the poor and the needy and the deserving, but other charitable activities are included therein.

The Pinheiro Foundation welcomes ideas, suggestions and discussions on potential initiatives that align with its mission and objectives. Collaborative thought and collective vision are integral to the Foundation’s growth and long–term impact.

At present, the Foundation’s primary focus is on establishing a seed fund, the interest from which will be utilized to award annual scholarships to deserving and underprivileged students across India. This effort aims to create a sustainable source of support that will continue to empower young minds and foster educational advancement for years to come.
